Continued blessings by DAFFODILS IN THE SNOW
This is one of the few books I return to over and over for nourishment and peace. Feeling the author's love for God in the midst daily struggles with cerebral palsy, encourages me to find joy in my life. Maxine Harper truly loves the Lord and serves Him with every word. She never mentions her physical limitations because she has overcome them. She received her Doctorate in Special Education in spite of physical struggles. The world is a better place because of Dr. Harper and her gift of DAFFODILS IN THE SNOW. This book should be in every home...and celebrated.

Dazzling Stranger: Bert Jansch and the British Folk and Blues Revival
Published in Hardcover by Bloomsbury Pub Ltd (September, 2000)
Author: Colin Harper
Average review score:

Bert's Boswell Comes Through
Anyone with an interest in Scottish born guitarist Bert Jansch will know that author Colin Harper has been collecting material for this biography for some years now. Colin has collected interviews with friends, fans and family and those involved in the "business affairs" of Bert's past and present and has wove them into an in -depth, objective volume on the respected and, to many, awe -inspiring musician. Covering Bert's introduction to folk song and blues as a young man in Glasgow, to the 60s London scene, through difficult "health problems" during the 80s and the Bert "renaissance" of the 90s, Colin treats his subject with objective respect and just a touch of the fan enthusiasm one would hope for to make this a wonderful read. Well done Colin!

One of the Best in the Pursuit series
This happens to be one of the best in the series. Whe you read this story and most of Harper's, you never want to put it down. But when you do, you can't wait to read it later. It mixes mystery, murder, police action. I highly recommend it.

Deaf Smith: Scout, Spy, and Texas Hero
Published in Hardcover by Eakin Publications (December, 1996)
Author: Jo Harper
Average review score:

A Good Tale, Well Told
A good friend's fourth grader selected this book as a gift from me while visiting my new home. She was completely absorbed by it and stimulated to remember and relate to me the Texas history she'd studied in the past year. I read it, too, and found it a good tale, well told and well illustrated.

The Definition of Standard Ml
Published in Hardcover by MIT Press (March, 1990)
Authors: Robin Milner, Mads Tofte, and Robert Harper
Average review score:

BECOME the language!
To explain it in the words of the authors: "The keystone of the method [used to define Standard ML in this book], then, is a certain kind of assertion that takes the form B |- P => M and may be pronounced: 'Against the background B, the phrase P evaluates to the meaning M.' The formal purpose of this Definition is no more, and no less, than to decree exactly which assertions of this form are true."

Standard ML is a very powerful language because of the abilities it grants and the restrictions it enforces. While reading this book will not teach you SML, it will help reinforce its subtle elegance. If you have developed an infatuation with this language, you will not be able to resist the only book that truly contains it.

While not necessary to enjoy this volume, a prerequisite to have any understanding of its contents is some sort of background in type theory and mathematical logic that a course like this one taught by Harper... can only begin to provide.

And remember, ML loves you!

Desert Song is the last of the DeWinter trilogy, and it tops them all. this time, It's Michael's turn, and his character is well developed. i loved hearing about how Arrain and Garrick are doing, and i loved to see how much in love Kassidy and Raile were after all these years. i recommend this book to every lover of romance.

Doing Good: Inspirational Stories of Everyday Americans at Home and at Work
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (February, 2001)
Author: Timothy Harper
Average review score:

Ought to be required reading
I have been a fan of Tim Harper since I first read "Operation Santa Claus" in Delta's Sky magazine several years back. The media is obsessed with reporting what ails society, but that's really a selective viewpoint and being fed a daily diet of it is probably why so many folks are taking anti-depressants these days! Tim Harper, on the other hand, focuses on ordinary people who perform wonderful acts of kindness, and their kindness influences others to do good as well...as evidenced by the update to Operation Santa in which an Illinois business adopted a school. Harper is a natural storyteller who gets his point across without being schmaltzy. The folks featured here aren't Mother Teresa...more likely they're your neighbor. Or perhaps - after reading this book - even you. I think the world would be a different place if this book was required reading for every college's incoming freshman class.
